Statement necklace and an LBD.

Is anyone as terrible as me at Christmas shopping?? Not only do I procrastinate at buying gifts in general (I still haven't bought any!) but I'm actively awful at figuring out what to get people. It's not that I don't know what my friends like, it's just that I have all these ideas floating around in my head, and then I get to the store(s) and just get completely overwhelmed by all the options and just give up entirely and pick the worst thing there is. Without fail! All I can say is - thank god for gift receipts.

For example, I stopped by H&M on Friday. I thought that, what with their year-end holiday sale going on (practically everything's on sale from $5 - $15 right now!) I was guaranteed to find stuff for everyone on my list. Instead, I ended up purchasing...just one dress. For myself. Um, oops.

At least I really like this dress! It was on sale for $20, and I'm a fan of the flattering, faux-wrap style and petite friendly length. Although the neckline is a little low for work on its own, I think it could definitely work with a camisole underneath - or maybe even a silky blouse. What do you guys think? I have a bunch of ideas for this dress floating around in my head on how to transition it from day-to-night, and in fact, think I might use it as the base for my entry in Petite Fashion Challenge #12!

Dress, H&M Sz XS (Similar here); Neckace, Mix-It; Shoes, CR Size 6 (Similar here).
Looking back at these photos, I'm not quite sure I like the jewelry I paired it with. The rounded shape of the necklace doesn't suit the v-neck of the dress - I think a longer, daintier piece might work a lot better. What sort of necklace/accessories would you wear with this dress?

Have you all finished your own holiday shopping - or are you procrastinators like me? What's on your own wishlist?! (Personally, I'm dying for an iPad.) I'd love to know!

  1. Pretty dress! It could work with a cami underneath and I like the necklace you used. And I'm a total procrastinator and always end up shopping for myself too. lol
